A Relaxed Whisky Weekend in the Tasmanian Highlands
Forget the expo halls and branded booths—Maltstock Down Under is whisky stripped back to what really matters: good people, great drams, and the joy of shared experience. Inspired by the iconic Dutch festival Maltstock, this is a community-led, not-for-profit whisky gathering set over three days in the historic and picturesque surrounds of Ratho Farm, Tasmania.
What to Expect
Over one incredible weekend, 100 guests will come together for a whisky experience like no other. Your ticket includes:
• Transport to and from Hobart Airport or CBD
• Two nights’ accommodation (single, twin share, or couples)
• All meals: from welcome dinner to midnight feast
• Whisky tastings and masterclasses with special guests
• Guided distillery visits
• The legendary Bring-a-Bottle Gathering
• Whisky bonfire, live music, whisky walk, giveaways, and more
• A Maltstock survival kit and showbag
This is a fully inclusive festival. Once you arrive, everything is taken care of—so you can focus on relaxing, tasting, and connecting.
The Maltstock Ethos
At the heart of the weekend is the Bring-a-Bottle tradition. Each guest contributes a bottle of whisky to the communal table, labelled and shared throughout the weekend. Once finished, your bottle earns a place in the Maltstock Bottle Graveyard, celebrating the drams we’ve enjoyed together.
The vibe? Warm, generous, and open-hearted. This is a festival by whisky lovers, for whisky lovers—no brand agendas, no hard sells. Just connection, discovery, and some very special whiskies.
What’s Not Included?
• Flights to/from Tasmania
• Soft drinks, beer & snacks
• Optional activities (golf, fly fishing)
• Drams from the Old & Rare Whisky Bar
The Whisky Weekend of the Year
Maltstock Down Under isn’t about exclusivity—it’s about inclusivity. Whisky is the connector, but it’s the people that make it special. If you value generosity, relaxed conversation, and whisky shared by the firelight—this is your festival.
